Set of 2 Vintage Bangle Bracelets, Cobalt Cloisonne Enamel & Painted Porcelain
SOLD $5,499.00 Sold: Jul 10, 2023 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Welcome to our newest store "Dallas Valley Discoveries". For more collectibles, please also visit our larger store "Mena Country Sales", both specializing in vintage and antique collectibles. Please come back often, as we are always buying more goodies to list on ebay. This listing is for a set of 2 beautiful vintage Cloisonne enameled and painted porcelain "cloisonne" bangles. These bracelets are unsigned. They are both just gorgeous. The wider of the two is a true cloisonne piece made with enamel and gold filigree wire and. The base of the bracelet looks like a cobalt blue porcelain. The bracelet has a beveled design with both sides slanting to a pointed line that runs through the center on the outer side of the bracelet. This bracelet is round and has an inner diameter of 2.5 inches and an outer diameter of slightly over 3 inches. It's width is about 10mm. The second bracelet is also blue but more of a robin's egg blue as opposed to cobalt. The bracelet is porcelain and at first glance also appears to be cloisonne, but it is actually painted and instead of thin gold wire being used to separate the fired enamel designs, gold paint is used and somehow expertly applied in the thinnest of lines. The bracelet has a tube like design and is rounded with a hollow center. There a little hole on the inside of the bracelet where the bracelet was held to be fired. This is not a flaw but part of the production process. This bracelet is a tiny bit smaller than the other, with an inner diameter is just under 2.5 inches, about 2.45 inches and outer diameter of about 2.95 inches. It's width is about 8 mm. These bracelets can be worn separately or together. They are vintage but I'm not sure whether this is old vintage or newer vintage. My hunch based on experience is midcentury or slightly earlier. Neither of them have the prefabricated look of later, 80s and 90s cloisonne. They both appear to be very finely handcrafted. Both show some signs of wear and age. They are in gorgeous vintage condition but when you look under magnification, you can see little nicks or dings here and there that occur with age and wear. In my opinion it adds to their value in that it is obvious they aren't reproductions. These bracelets will make great additions to one's vintage jewelry collection. The pictures are to be considered as part of the description so please use the zoom feature and review them for a better idea of details and condition. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Shipping will be $5.50 USPS insured first class, and i would be more than willing to combine shipping. I don't offer a return policy, but... i will stand behind my listings. if i make a mistake on my listing, or i misunderstand an item or miss a relevant flaw on the items listed, i will do ANYTHING in my power to make things right for the buyer, so bid with confidence. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
Note: This item has been sold and is no longer available. This page serves as a historical price reference for Cloisonne collectors and appraisers.
